Dear colleagues,
Applications are still open for participation in the IX International Smolny Student Conference 2021 ‘Re:creating new world’ to be held in a mixed format on April 16-18, 2021 at the Bobrinskiy Palace (58-60 Galernaya St., St. Petersburg, Russia). Students, post-graduate students, and young researchers up to 35 years old without post-graduate degrees specializing in different fields of sciences and arts are invited to take part in the conference.
Deadline for applications is January 25, 2021.
Detailed information about the conference, abstract requirements, and application process may be found in the file attached or on our website.
Our conference will focus primarily on the changes that have taken place since the start of the pandemic — most of them led to waves of negative comments that the world had undergone a radical transformation and would never be the same again. Suggesting the theme of the 2021 conference – ‘Re:creating a new world’ – we would like to draw attention to the fact that the discourse about the rise of a new world had appeared long before the beginning of the pandemic. We invite the conference participants to look at their own research through the lens of this discourse (if possible), and reflect on whether the pandemic has indeed changed the vector of global development or maybe it only accelerated the already existing processes. We encourage you to envision, what the world will be like after the pandemic and which role science and art will play in it.
Best regards,
The Organising Committee
of the IX Smolny Student Conference
